YMCA summer day camp registration opens for San Antonio families

The YMCA of Greater San Antonio has opened registration for its summer day camps filled with swimming, STEM, sports and field trips.

SAN ANTONIO — Summer may still be a few months away, but families in San Antonio can already start planning the fun.

The YMCA of Greater San Antonio has officially opened registration for its 2026 summer day camp program, giving kids a chance to spend the season making friends, trying new activities and building confidence.

The camps are designed for children ages 5 to 12 and will be offered at multiple YMCA locations across the greater San Antonio area.

Each week brings new themed adventures with activities that may include swimming, STEM projects, arts and crafts, team sports, outdoor games and field trips.

YMCA leaders say the camps are about more than just keeping kids busy during the summer.

“Day camp at the Y is more than just summer fun. It’s where kids grow in confidence, make lifelong friends, and experience something new every day,” said Debbie Degollado, vice president of youth development for the YMCA of Greater San Antonio.

Camp programs are led by trained staff who focus on helping campers build teamwork, leadership skills and healthy habits while creating a supportive environment where kids feel welcome.

Registration opened Monday, March 16, and summer sessions will run throughout the season. Families are encouraged to sign up early since spots are expected to fill quickly and waitlists are likely.

The YMCA also offers financial assistance for families who qualify, helping ensure more children can take part in the summer experience.

Families can learn more or sign up by visiting the YMCA’s website.
