Young girl apprehended on NISD high school campus with 3 weapons, officials say

The girl was stopped and searched by NISD officials, who say she is not a student at Warren High.

SAN ANTONIO — A high school in Northside Independent School District says a juvenile who does not attend the school entered the campus Monday with three weapons in her possession.

Melissa Hurst, the principal of Earl Warren High School, sent out an email to all parents informing them of the incident.

We reached to NISD to try and find out exactly what weapons were in the young girl’s possession and were told that it was two guns and one knife. No other specifics were provided.

The young girl was taken into police custody and NISD officials say there is no threat to students or staff.

This is the email parents received:

Dear Warren Families,

I am writing to inform you about a security incident that occurred on campus earlier today, Monday, October 27, 2025, at approximately 11:04 a.m. A juvenile individual, who is not a student enrolled at Warren High School, entered the main campus doors indicating her intent to register at the campus. I commend the vigilance of dedicated staff members who quickly addressed the juvenile and notified school officials.

Campus administrators and NISD Police addressed the female as she attempted to leave the building. The individual was questioned further and a subsequent search found the juvenile to be in possession of three weapons. The individual was immediately taken into police custody, and I can confirm that there is no ongoing threat to our students or staff.

This incident is currently under active investigation by the NISD Police Department. We will update our school community with any further details as we are authorized to share them. The safety and security of every student and staff member is, and will always remain, our highest priority. We train for these situations, and today, those protocols worked effectively. We thank you for your continued support of our school and our security efforts.
