Young learners explore limitless career possibilities at Fiesta de los Niños in SA

At San Antonio’s largest kid-focused Fiesta celebration, organizers encourage you to put your imagination in the hands of technology!

SAN ANTONIO — Organizers expected 10,000 people to attend Fiesta de los Niños at the Boeing Center at Tech Port on Sunday. Most parents are excited this family-friendly experience is free.

Josh Martinez, director of esports for the San Antonio Museum of Science and Technology says gaming is more than winning.

“They’ll learn about concepts of bridge building and physics and architecture and they get to come here and actually get to build something,” Martinez said.

The event includes video gaming on 60 state-of-the-art systems.

“This space is really about what’s coming in the future and job opportunities that are available in the San Antonio job market,” he said.

Mom of two, Gabriella Quiroja, is excited her two young sons are showing interest in STEM.

“Oh my gosh, if they become astronauts that would be awesome,” said Quiroja.

Organizer Stephanie Garcia says this opportunity helps kids and parents explore possible career ideas they may not have considered.

“This is really the future of San Antonio,” Garcia said. “It just takes literally one exhibit, one flight simulator, one driving simulator away from your next career in technology.”
