Valeri Mireles, 19, was pronounced dead at the scene.
A 19-year-old woman was killed in a head-on crash in Bandera County on Sunday, May 25, officials confirm.
It happened around 1:40 a.m. on State Highway 173.
Texas DPS troopers responding to the crash say the driver of a white Chevy Camaro, Evan Mazurek, 22, crossed into the northbound lanes and hit the blue KIA Flex being driven by Valeri Mireles, 19, head-on.
Mireles was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Mazurek was taken to a hospital for his injuries. Officials say that Mazurek was found to be impaired, but was not taken into custody due to his crash related injuries.
Charges for Driving While Intoxicated and Intoxication Manslaughter will be filed at large.
The crash investigation remains active and ongoing.
