LAND O’ LAKES, Fla. — At least one person is dead following a plane crash early Sunday morning in Pasco County.

Pasco County Fire Rescue says this happened in the area of Aldus Drive at the Grand Oaks neighborhood in Land O’ Lakes.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) say that a Cessna C402 aircraft crashed into the yard around 8:30 a.m. into a home’s yard.

The FAA confirms only the pilot was on board, and they had departed from Tampa North Aero Park.

Officials confirmed that fire caused by the crash has been extinguished, and a home received some damage.
