SAN ANTONIO — Texas voters will go to the polls on May 26, 2026, for an important primary runoff election that will decide which candidates run in November’s general election.

The Big Races
Among the key races on the ballot this primary is the Democratic runoff for Bexar County District Attorney. Seasoned prosecutor Jane Davis and former Fourth Court of Appeals Judge Luz Elena Chapa bring different perspectives to the race; the eventual nominee will face Republican Ashley Foster in November.
On a statewide level, Republican voters will weigh in on the runoff for U.S. Senate, with incumbent John Cornyn facing a challenge from Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, who was recently endorsed by President Donald Trump. The winner will go on to face Democrat James Talarico this fall.
