AFFIDAVIT: SA woman charged in connection to death of father-in-law found in trash bag on west side

A woman is charged with tampering with evidence in her father-in-law’s death after his body was found in a trash bag on San Antonio’s west side, officials say.

SAN ANTONIO — A second person has been arrested in connection with the death of a man whose body was found inside a trash bag on the west side earlier this month.

Authorities say 36-year-old Alyssa Herrera has been charged with tampering with evidence in connection to the death of her father-in-law, 54-year-old Daniel Antonio Ordonez.

Ordonez’s 31-year-old son, who is also named Daniel, was previously arrested and also faces a charge of tampering with evidence.

Investigators say a relative initially requested a welfare check on Ordonez. His truck was later found at a rental property he owned on Theo Avenue with a bullet hole through the back window.

Police then searched Ordonez’s home on Vera Cruz, where he lived with his son and daughter-in-law. Inside the residence, authorities say they discovered a bloody trash bag containing Ordonez’s body. He had been shot in the head.

At this time, no one has been charged with Ordonez’s murder. The investigation remains ongoing.
