Apple Sports | Apple launches simplistic score-tracking app for free

This app is free to download in the U.S., U.K. and Canada.

TEXAS, USA — Apple has joined the score-tracking scene as they announced the all-new Apple Sports app on Wednesday, Feb. 21.

The popular tech company says this app is designed for speed and simplicity, creating a source for sports fans to get real-time scores, stats and more.

Apple’s Senior Vice President of Services Eddy Cue stated, “We created Apple Sports to give sports fans what they want — an app that delivers incredibly fast access to scores and stats.  Apple Sports is available for free in the App Store, and makes it easy for users to stay up to date with their favorite teams and leagues.”

Apple says the following leagues are available to track as they are currently in season:

  • MLS
  • NBA
  • NCAA basketball (men’s and women’s)
  • NHL
  • Bundesliga
  • LaLiga
  • Liga MX
  • Ligue 1
  • Premier League
  • Serie A

Later in the year, Apple says the MLB, NFL, NCAAF, NWSL and WNBA will be available to track.

According to Apple, users can customize their scoreboards by selecting favorite teams, tournaments and leagues. Users can check scores, upcoming games, play-by-play information, team stats, lineup details and live-betting odds.

Apple says the app will even take you to the Apple TV app and connected streaming apps to watch live games by a simple tap.

The app is currently available for free download in the U.S., the U.K. and Canada.
