Barbershop near Monte Vista area heavily damaged by fire

The estimated damages are around $60,000, according to officials.

SAN ANTONIO — A barbershop near Monte Vista suffered close to $60,000 in damages from a fire late Tuesday night.

San Antonio firefighters responded to the 500 block of West Hildebrand Avenue near San Pedro Avenue around 11:55 p.m. for reports of a fire.

When SAFD arrived, heavy smoke was showing from the building. Firefighters found the source quickly and were able to extinguish it.

Investigators have not determined a cause but will be looking into it.

The business was closed at the time and no injuries were reported.

Officials estimate the damages to be around $60,000.
