For those worried about how to get a free breakfast during rodeo season, have no fear. Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar is gearing up to make last year’s free rodeo breakfast an annual tradition.
The Bexar County Sheriff’s Foundation announced last month that Sheriff Salazar’s 2nd Annual Rodeo Breakfast will take over the parking lot of Dave & Busters on February 11, to give out free breakfast to the public from 7 to 11 a.m., or until supplies last. The inaugural event arose after the annual Cowboy Breakfast was made private in 2022. The news about the return of Sheriff Salazar’s free breakfast event was announced just two days after San Antonio learned the Cowboy Breakfast is canceled again in 2023.
On Monday, January 2, the foundation announced Black Rifle Coffee Company as the first official sponsor for the free breakfast event, which is described as a community partnership with restaurants and community organizations that seek to provide an amazing rodeo experience for Bexar County Residents.
The controversial $1 billion veteran-founded coffee company based in Utah has shown a lot of interest in Military City USA and surrounding areas in recent years, including inclusion in the San Antonio Monopoly game.
Roads around Boerne were closed for a few days last year when Black Rifle Coffee Company and Hoonigan shot a short film that premiered ahead of Veterans Day last year. A Nebraska man was also arrested at the Boerne location after he reportedly stalked and attempted to meet BRC influencer Heather Lynn when she was in the Hill Country for an event.
The San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo kicks off on February 9 through February 26 with a massive lineup of entertainment, fun, food and more.
