A 47-year-old Boerne music teacher has been arrested on charges of child sexual assault, indecency with a child and harassment, according to reports by the Kendall and Bandera County sheriff’s offices.

Gareth Goode was taken into custody by the Boerne Police Department last Friday after being booked at the Kendall County Jail. He was being held in custody at the Bandera County Jail as of Thursday.

A woman came forward in June 2021 and filed a report about the past sexual assault of her daughter, according to KSAT. An indictment filed this month states the alleged offenses happened in 2013.

A spokesman with the Boerne Police Department was advised that a suspect wanted by Bandera County was located at a residence in Boerne. The officers found Goode on the 200 block of Shadywood in Boerne and arrested him without incident.

Goode was convicted of driving while intoxicated, according to state records, in 2011 in Bexar County and in 1999 in McLennan County. He also was convicted of assault twice, in 1999 and 1996, in McLennan County.

Goode owns and operates Goode Music Inc. and provides lessons in the Fair Oaks Ranch, Leon Springs and Boerne area.  He is also a member of the St. John Lutheran Church and works there as the praise and worship director.
