Secrets, Lies, and Texas Wives will follow a close-knit group of Texas Hill Country women.
SAN ANTONIO — Reality TV coming to the Texas Hill Country! Bravo is set to premiere a new show that may have some familiar faces to many across South Texas.
It’s being shot in Boerne. The producers say it will follow a close knit group of women around to get a glimpse into their dramatic lives. The title of the show, “Secrets, Lies and Texas Wives.”
“In my mind, as far as secrets, lies, and Texas wives, I can watch it, but I’m living it,” said Baron Wiley who is a steward of Boerne Radio, 103.9FM. The 10th generation Texan has lived in this quiet, mostly drama-free town, for the past six years.
“Everybody’s got each other’s backs. We don’t compete against each other. We try to help each other in every way. And the Boerne bubble is kind of real,” he said.
Wiley hopes Bravo’s stop in Boerne points the producers to the right authentic real-life content.
“I think if, you know, reality television, a lot of it’s scripted. Let’s just be real,” said Wiley.
What Boerne beauty did Wiley think may bring the fire to the show?
“Well, there’s Joey Sanders here at the Richter Tavern. She’s a lot of fun,” Wiley told us.
Joi (Joey) Sanders, the wine director and event manager from Richter Cork and Keg added, “I do know there are a lot of very interesting women here with really extensive and really cool backgrounds in education and business.”
Sanders is an ambassador with the Boerne Chamber and says her restaurant is the perfect place for a Texas wife who likes wine, before whining in front of the camera. Sanders said, “I probably have seen some of them come in. I just didn’t know if they were, you know, the reality stars yet.”
So are there really sultry secrets to be scoured here where so many storefronts close at 8 p.m. on weekends, or is Boerne buttoned-up?
Sanders told us, “Yeah, it’s hard to have a secret here. Boerne, people pretty much know all your stuff.”
Wiley added, “So they might create some some faux drama, but if they show Boerne in a great light, then bring it.”
