
Officials have not yet identified the woman, but her body was found on the banks of the Guadalupe River during a search for a missing New Braunfels resident.
NEW BRAUNFELS, Texas — The body of an adult female was discovered Tuesday evening during a planned search of the Guadalupe River conducted as part of ongoing efforts to locate a missing New Braunfels woman, authorities said.
According to the New Braunfels Police Department, the body was found at approximately 6 p.m. on June 2 during a coordinated search involving the New Braunfels Police and Fire departments, Texas Search and Rescue (TEXSAR) and the New Braunfels Community Emergency Response Team (NBCERT).
The search was being conducted in connection with the disappearance of 59-year-old Juliet Elizabeth Watson, who was reported missing on May 26. Authorities said the area had been the focus of several searches over the past week.
During Tuesday’s operation, search teams located the body of an adult female along the banks of the Guadalupe River near the 700 block of Rusk Lane.
Officials said the body has not yet been positively identified. It will be transported to the medical examiner’s office for an autopsy and formal identification.
Authorities have not said whether the remains are believed to be those of Watson.
The investigation remains ongoing and is being handled by the New Braunfels Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division.
