The Eastbound lanes of Loop 1604 are expected to remain closed until midday as crews work to clear the scene.
SAN ANTONIO — A major crash involving an 18-wheeler has shut down part of Loop 1604 on the northeast side, causing traffic headaches for morning commuters.
According to the Converse Police Department, the southbound lanes of East Loop 1604 between Rocket Lane and Lower Seguin Road were closed as of early Tuesday morning.
Officials say the closure is expected to remain in place until around noon as first responders and cleanup crews continue working the scene.
Police say no major injuries have been reported.
Drivers are urged to avoid the area and use alternate routes. Authorities also remind anyone nearby to use caution and watch for emergency crews.
