ELMENDORF, Texas — A day after a kangaroo was on the loose in Elmendorf, police now say another animal took their turn to roam the city.
Around 2:40 p.m. Thursday, an officer was driving along FM 327 when he came across a llama in the roadway.
The officer temporarily shut down the roadway before the llama was safely captured. The road was closed for about an hour.
The owner was identified and said the llama’s name was “Captain.” He was safely reunited with his owner.
“And yes, we know this comes right after yesterday’s kangaroo capture,” Elmendorf PD said in a Facebook post. “We promise we are not begging for attention — apparently the animals just saw the post and wanted their turn.”
The next question becomes: what animal will be on the loose tomorrow?
