Four-vehicle crash snarls traffic on Interstate 10 east side

Officials say one person was rushed to the hospital after the morning crash.

SAN ANTONIO — A major crash involving four vehicles caused heavy traffic delays Tuesday morning on San Antonio’s east side.

According to the San Antonio Fire Department, crews responded around 8:10 a.m. to Interstate 10 westbound near North W.W. White Road.

Authorities say three of the vehicles suffered significant damage, while a fourth vehicle was only lightly clipped during the collision.

One person was transported to Brooke Army Medical Center for treatment. Officials have not released the extent of the injuries.

Police say it remains unclear what caused the crash.

Traffic backed up for hours as crews worked to clear the damaged vehicles and reopen lanes along the busy highway corridor.

The investigation remains ongoing.
