SAN ANTONIO — Guadalupe County authorities are conducting a major crackdown on sexual predators. A dozen victims of prostitution were rescued in a multi-agency operation led by the Guadalupe County Sheriff’s Office and eight people are now facing charges.
This is reportedly the third Operation Rolling Thunder the Guadalupe County Sheriff’s Office has led. This operation was conducted in a three-day span from May 5 – May 7.
Video provided to KENS 5 shows the arrests. Six people were taken into custody for soliciting prostitution and two drivers for the victims were also booked for existing warrants, authorities said.
The accused predators were believed to be meeting a victim, but instead have been talking to a detective the entire time. The Guadalupe County Sheriff’s Office worked with Texas DPS, Medina County Sheriff’s Office, the FBI, and other agencies to make the arrests.
GCSO says, through the sting operation, they were able to rescue 12 prostitution victims.
