How to watch the 2026 Preakness Stakes

The race returns Saturday from Laurel Park instead of Pimlico for the first time since 1908. Here’s the start time, streaming info and more.

LAUREL, Md. — The second leg of horse racing’s Triple Crown returns Saturday as the 151st Preakness Stakes heads to a new location for the first time in more than a century.

This year marks the first time since 1908 that the Preakness will not be run at Pimlico Race Course in Baltimore. Laurel Park, located between Baltimore and Washington, D.C., is hosting the race while Pimlico undergoes a $400 million renovation.

The Preakness Stakes is 1 3/16 miles long, making it the shortest race in the Triple Crown series.

Fourteen horses are expected to compete in this year’s race. Kentucky Derby winner Golden Tempo is not expected to compete, meaning there will not be a Triple Crown winner this year.
