A student at Killeen ISD’s Roy J. Smith Middle School got a special surprise when her father returned home from deployment.
KILLEEN, Texas — A Killeen ISD middle school student got a special surprise this May, as her father stopped by her school after returning home from deployment.
KISD said Roy J. Smith Middle School 8th grader Raylee Smalls was having lunch on May 13 when her father, Sgt. First Class Anthony Smalls, walked in to surprise her.
The district shared a heartwarming video of Smalls running across the cafeteria and leaping into her father’s arms when she saw him, as her classmates watched on and cheered the emotional reunion.
“Welcome home, SFC Smalls and thank you for your service,” KISD said in a post on social media.
