Loop 410 near I-37 reopens after major rollover crash in San Antonio

Update on Tuesday, May 21 at 7:45 a.m.

All lanes have reopened according to TxDOT maps following a rollover crash earlier in the morning. No word on any injuries from the crash. Traffic moving smoothing at this time, Transguide cameras show.

If you’re heading out the door to work or school this morning, you may want to consider an alternate route. A major rollover crash has shut down the eastbound main lanes of Loop 410 right before you get to I-37 on the Southeast Side of town.

The crash was reported a little after 6 a.m. on Tuesday, May 21. Transguide cameras from the scene show a white truck on its side near the crash site.

SigAlert, a traffic monitoring site, reports traffic backups up to Moursund Boulevard. Drivers on Loop 410 are being forced to exit onto the frontage road. The exit to I-37 is still open.

TxDOT is encouraging drivers to take an alternative route. One route drivers can take is South Presa to Southeast Military or Villamain Road. Traffic delays are expected to be around 30 minutes, SigAlert shows. The site also shows traffic is moving as slow as 3 miles per hour. If you’re headed into this area of town you’ll either want to take the alternative route or pack your patience.

It’s unclear if anyone was hurt in this crash or how long it will take to clear the crash. Cameras at the time of this publication don’t show a tow truck nearby.

This is a developing story and MySA will update with more information as we get it.
