The 35-year-old victim was transported to BAMC in critical condition, where he later died. SAPD is searching for the suspect.

SAN ANTONIO — A man died after he was allegedly shot multiple times in the upper body by a suspect currently on the run, according to SAPD.

An SAPD spokesperson said officers responded to a disturbance near Lamar Street and Austin Street, northeast of downtown.

Witnesses told police the unknown suspect, believed to be in his mid 30s, was chasing the victim before he caught him, shooting him three to four times in the upper body.

Police say they are searching for the suspect who fled the scene on foot, possibly traveling with a dog.

The 35-year-old victim was transported to Brooke Army Medical Center in critical condition, where he later died. Sergeant Howard said a person did stop to render aid to the victim before emergency crews arrived at the scene.

No word yet as to what led up to the disturbance. Police say no weapon has been found.

This is a developing story.
