GREENSBORO, N.C. — Imagine it’s the crack of dawn. The sun hasn’t even risen yet, and you’ve barely gotten the sleep out of your eyes.
Slowly, you move from your bed and approach the door when you hear…singing? Only to open the door to find dozens of teenagers in your living room.
That was Wednesday morning’s wake-up call for Dr. Brian Muller, the principal of Northwest Guilford High School.
May 27 was the last day Northwest seniors would be on campus. So, naturally, they wanted to make the most out of it.
In a hilarious senior prank, about 100 students snuck into Muller’s home at 5 a.m. (talk about commitment), crowded into his living room, and waited for their principal to wake up.
As Muller began to stir and get out of bed, the students started singing a classic for all generations: “Baby” by Justin Bieber.
Bewildered, Muller opened the door to find the students there.
“You got me, 100% you got me,” he said.
WFMY News 2 spoke with Muller, who had nothing but kind things to say about the prank.
To start, he wanted to make clear that the students had coordinated their genius plan with the principal’s family before executing it. He also has rules for senior pranks, which state that they can’t cause destruction or disrupt class time.
However, at the beginning of the year, Muller encouraged seniors to participate in all of the events their last year of high school had to offer. Wednesday morning, it was clear they took that message to heart.
Muller said he was honored that the seniors wanted to include him in their prank. He said he had to drink extra coffee in the morning and planned to go to bed early that night.
Congrats to the Northwest Guilford graduating class!
