Man hospitalized after duplex fire on northeast side, officials say

Firefighters were able to quickly knock down the fire. Officials say the damage was moderate contained to one room.

SAN ANTONIO — A man is in the hospital after a fire on the northeast side, officials say.

Firefighters arrived at a duplex in the 500 block of East Carson around 10 p.m. Thursday night. That’s where they located a fire coming from a front window and a man on the ground in front of the house.

The man was taken to the hospital with burns covering 30%-40% of his body, according to officials. No word on his condition as of Friday morning.

Firefighters were able to quickly knock down the fire. Officials say the damage was moderate contained to one room.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
