Man shot during attempted burglary at west-side apartment complex, SAPD says

According to SAPD, the suspects fled in a vehicle but were unable to provide any descriptions.

SAN ANTONIO — One man was shot after an attempted burglary at a west-side apartment complex Monday evening, according to the San Antonio Police Department. 

Police were called to the 2000 block of SW Loop 410 for a shooting in progress around 7:10 p.m., at an apartment complex. 

Authorities said four masked suspects tried to burglarize a residence when nearby apartment residents confronted them and began asking what they were doing.

Police said that’s when someone pulled out a gun and started shooting, striking a man in the stomach. The victim’s friends or relative drove him to the hospital, where he remains in stable condition. 

According to SAPD, the suspects fled in a vehicle but were unable to provide any descriptions. 

Police said some children were in the area playing when shooting occurred. No other injuries were reported. 

This is an ongoing investigation.
