SAN ANTONIO — A missing woman was found dead at Enchanted Rock Wednesday morning, State Wildlife officials said.
According to a news release, the 81-year-old woman was found around 9:30 a.m., and was pronounced dead by the Justice of the Peace. She has not been identified.
“Our thoughts are with the woman’s family and loved ones during this difficult time,” The news release stated.
Officials said she got lost on the Loop Trail Tuesday afternoon. Several counties sent search and rescue crews out to help find her but the storms made them pause their search efforts multiple times.
The Texas State Park Police will be taking the lead on the investigation.
