OUTAGE MAP: Crews restore power to thousands amid Monday night downpours

SAN ANTONIO — CPS Energy crews responded to a slew of power outages impacting upwards of 3,000 customers in the San Antonio area Monday night. At one point, More than 3,500 households and business were without power. 

The response from the utility came at the end of a day of heavy rain that canceled major Fiesta events and closed dozens of roads in Bexar County amid a prolonged flooding threat. 

“Our crews are committed to restoring power as safely and efficiently as possible, but please know that flooded roads and hazardous conditions may impact their ability to access certain areas,” CPS Energy said in a post on X at 9:38 p.m. 

At 11:20 p.m., the utility’s outage tracker said the number of active power outages dwindled to 23, impacting 441 homes and businesses.

A Flash Flood Warning impacting Bexar, Comal and Guadalupe counties lifted at 11 p.m. after being extended three times. Additional overnight and Tuesday morning showers are possible.
