OVERTON, Texas — Overton ISD is asking for prayers after a beloved high school football player was injured in a “serious accident.”
The district says Christian “Macho” Rodriguez is undergoing surgery Saturday.
“Please lift him, his medical team and his family up in your prayers,” OISD wrote in a social media post.
A prayer circle will be held in the Overton High School library at 5 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 21. Attendees will also make cards to send to him.
Details concerning the type of accident Rodriguez was in are unknown at this time. CBS19 will update this article as more information becomes available.
