PLEASANTON, Texas — Pleasanton Primary School was evacuated as a precaution Thursday morning after a threat was made, officials say.
The school district sent out this message to families of students:
Dear Eagle Families,
This morning, the Primary Campus was placed in a lockdown and all other Pleasanton ISD Campuses were placed in a hold. This was done in response to a phone call of a bomb threat being made against the Primary Campus. Administration, PISD Police, and other local law enforcement officials evacuated the campus to the Pleasanton Performing Arts Center (PAC) while law enforcement searched the area.
At this time, Primary students are located at the PAC. We are beginning our reunification procedures. Please, do not try to enter the PAC building, but use the car line in front of the PAC to retrieve your Primary student. We will release students on their campuses once the hold has been lifted and law enforcement has deemed it safe to do so. Please know the safety and well-being of our students is our number one priority.
The PISD Team
They made the decision to evacuate the primary school around 11 a.m. Multiple law enforcement agencies are assisting and can confirm no children are hurt.
“The Texas Rangers and a K9 team will be conducting a check of the Primary Campus,” said the Pleasanton Police. “Once they are complete with the Primary they will move to other campus as a precaution. As of right now all other campuses are on a hold. Please be patient as the children’s safety, security are our highest priority and are working with Pleasanton ISD to make sure are students are safe.”
We will update this story as we learn more.
