Pride Center San Antonio launches emergency fundraiser as it searches for new home

The Pride Center San Antonio seeks community support to overcome funding cuts and cover relocation expenses as it moves to a new location.

SAN ANTONIO — The Pride Center San Antonio is asking the community for help as it prepares to relocate from its current home and works to overcome significant funding losses.

The organization recently launched a fundraising campaign after losing more than $200,000 in federal funding cuts. Leaders say the goal is to keep operations running during the transition to a new location.

The Pride Center currently operates out of the Metropolitan Professional Building on McCullough Avenue but must move because the property is being redeveloped.

According to the organization, the San Antonio AIDS Foundation is helping provide temporary space during the transition. However, the Pride Center must continue leasing its current location through the end of the month while preparing for the move.

To help cover expenses associated with the relocation, including rent, moving costs, cleaning, repairs and ongoing operations, the organization is working to raise $100,000.

The Pride Center says community donations will help ensure services continue uninterrupted as it searches for a permanent new home.
