Roof collapses as firefighters battle blaze on northeast side of San Antonio

Fire officials say that half of the building is a total loss.

SAN ANTONIO — A roof collapsed as firefighters were battling a blaze on the northeast side of town early Monday morning, according to SAFD.

San Antonio firefighters responded to Stahl Road at Bulverde Road around 4:41 a.m. for reports of a building fire.

When firefighters arrived, the flames were coming through the roof on the back half of the building. The battalion chief says he believes the building is used for woodworking. Officials say the back half of the building collapsed as they were fighting the fire.

The cause of the fire is unknown at this time. Fire officials say that half of the building is a total loss. No injuries were reported.

This is a developing story.
