SAN ANTONIO — San Antonio residents planning errands this week may want to check the calendar first.
The City of San Antonio announced City Hall and most municipal offices will be closed Friday, April 24, in observance of the San Jacinto holiday.
Police, Fire and EMS services will remain fully operational.
What stays open:
- 3-1-1 Call Center from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., then urgent calls from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m.
- Animal Care officers for field response
- City parks and trails
- Municipal Court magistration services
- SAPD detention center
- Downtown on-street parking meters will be free for the holiday
What keeps normal service:
- Garbage, recycling and organics collection will run on regular schedules all week
- Brush and bulky pickups will continue as scheduled
What will be closed:
- San Antonio Public Library locations
- Animal Care Services lobby and adoption center
- Metro Health clinics
- Municipal Court offices
- Community and senior centers
- Pre-K 4 SA centers
- Several galleries, cultural sites and administrative offices

Officials also say bulky waste drop-off centers and the household hazardous waste center will be closed for the day.
