San Antonio police seek suspect in north-side bar shooting that injured two men

One victim was shot in the ankle and the other was hit in the leg, police said.

SAN ANTONIO — A fight inside a north-side bar escalated into gunfire early Thursday morning, leaving two men injured and San Antonio police searching for the shooter.

According to the San Antonio Police Department, officers were called around 2 a.m. to La Carreta Bar and Grill off San Pedro Avenue after reports of a shooting.

Police said a fight broke out inside the bar before security escorted one man outside. Investigators said the altercation continued outside, where the man allegedly pulled out a gun and shot two men.

One victim was shot in the ankle and the other was hit in the leg, police said. Both men took themselves to a hospital for treatment of their injuries.

The suspected gunman fled the scene before officers arrived, according to police. Authorities have not released a description of the suspect.

The investigation remains ongoing.
