Explore San Antonio Zoo’s immersive habitats and incredible wildlife for just $8 on Locals Day, May 1.

SAN ANTONIO — San Antonio families can enjoy the immersive exhibits of the San Antonio Zoo on Friday, May 1, for discounted admission during its latest Locals Day event.

According to the San Antonio Zoo, Bexar County residents can purchase $8 tickets from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the zoo. The special promotion is part of the zoo’s ongoing Locals Day series, which celebrates different San Antonio City Council districts and Bexar County precincts throughout the year. Friday’s experience is a special spotlight on District 2, though all Bexar County residents are eligible for the discount price.

Zoo officials say Locals Day offers residents a chance to explore animal habitats, learn about conservation efforts and enjoy family-friendly activities at one of the city’s most popular attractions.

Visitors can a check out Congo Falls, a two-acre gorilla habitat that teaches conservation and gorilla care. Congo Falls is free with zoo admission.

The zoo notes that $8 Locals Day tickets are available only on select dates and must be purchased by Bexar County residents with valid proof of residency. More information about Locals Day and ticket purchases is available at the website here.
