SAPD: Train hit, kills man in north San Antonio

The victim hasn’t yet been identified.

SAN ANTONIO — San Antonio police say a middle-aged man was walking on a set of tracks Tuesday when he was hit and killed by a train.

The victim hasn’t yet been identified and police say they don’t expect criminal charges to be filed. Authorities responded to the 10600 block of Wetmore Road, near San Antonio International Airport on the north side, at 6:12 p.m.

A police sergeant at the scene said the man was “walking on the tracks where he shouldn’t have been” when he “got struck on the bridge.”

“He was in the middle of the bridge when the train was coming,” the sergeant said. “It was either jump off the bridge or get hit by the train, and he got hit by the train.
