
Emergency crews responded overnight to a head-on collision that sent multiple patients to San Antonio hospitals.
DEVINE, Texas — Seven people were hospitalized after a suspected wrong-way crash early Sunday morning on Interstate 35 near Devine.
According to Medina County Fire/EMS, crews were called around 12:30 a.m. to a major accident near Brown Chevrolet involving a possible wrong-way driver.
Responders say two vehicles collided head-on, prompting a large emergency response.
Engine 20 and Medic 40 arrived first, assessed patients and requested additional medic units to the scene.
Officials say a total of seven patients were transported to hospitals in San Antonio. Multiple Medina County EMS units responded, along with assistance from Frio County EMS.
Authorities have not released the conditions of those injured.
While officials say the rain may not have caused this crash, crews also handled several other weather-related accidents involving vehicles losing control.
Emergency officials are reminding drivers to slow down and use extra caution during wet conditions.
