SAN ANTONIO — A standoff with Bexar County Sheriff’s Office deputies ended after five hours on the west side of San Antonio, BCSO syas.
Deputies tell us a man refused to come out of a home after assaulting a woman. BCSO says a child was also inside the house.
The incident started around midnight when deputies were called out for an assault in progress at a home offof the 500 block of Red Quill Nest near Potranco Road on the far west side of town.
Deputies say a 48-year-old reportedly assaulted a woman, attacking her with a handgun.
There weren’t any shots fired and the woman was able to get out of the house.
But according to BCSO, a child was inside with the manand thankfully that child wasn’t hurt.
Nearby homes were evacuated as a safety precaution as swat negotiators tried to peacefully resolve the situation.
BCSO tells us the man surrendered just after 5 a.m. Sunday morning.
