Teen cashier stabbed multiple times in Kroger robbery in Fort Worth, officials say

During the robbery, a cashier was stabbed “several times” in the abdomen, according to a police news release.

FORT WORTH, Texas — A teen cashier was in critical condition after she was stabbed multiple times in a robbery at a Fort Worth Kroger grocery store on Wednesday afternoon, officials said.

The incident happened shortly after noon at a Kroger store located at 9114 Camp Bowie West Boulevard, near West Loop 820 in Fort Worth.

MedStar officials confirmed the victim was a teenage female in critical condition.

Police said a man entered the store and tried to rob one of the cashiers. During the robbery, a cashier was stabbed “several times” in the abdomen, according to a police news release.

The victim was taken to a hospital in critical but stable condition, police said, but more information was not released. The suspect, whose name has not been released, has been arrested, police said.

More information about how the incident happened was not released. Several police vehicles could still be seen outside of the Kroger store more than an hour after the stabbing happened. Police are still investigating.

Kroger officials released a statement acknowledging “a sad and unfortunate situation” at the store that resulted in an employee getting injured.

“We are working in full cooperation with local law enforcement and our store will remain closed until they conclude their investigation,” the statement said. “The entire Kroger family offers our thoughts, prayers and support to our associate and their family.”
