Even if you haven’t received an appraisal notice, you can still file a protest with the county appraisal office.
SAN ANTONIO — Homeowners in Bexar County have until Friday to protest their property values with the Bexar Central Appraisal District (BCAD).
Officials say homeowners can still file a protest even if they have not received an appraisal notice in the mail. That can be done either online; in person during regular business hours at 411 North Frio St.; or by mail to P.O. Box 830248, San Antonio, TX 78283. If you’re mailing your protest, it must be postmarked by Friday, May 15.
Fewer notices were mailed this year because of the state of the residential housing market and because some protested values from last year were carried into this year, according to officials.
Homeowners can check their property values through BCAD’s website. The department appraises nearly 800,000 properties every year.
