SAN ANTONIO – Multiple drive-by shootings on the same street in a week have residents on the West Side fearing the worst.
“We’ve had three shootings in a week. This was a very peaceful neighborhood. We never had any problems,” said one neighbor, who asked to remain anonymous.
Those who live off of Prescott Drive say they’re concerned and are afraid to show their faces on camera.
“If they keep coming back, they still haven’t found what they’re looking for, and it’s a danger to us,” said another neighbor.
The San Antonio Police Department said a single home in the 10000 block of Prescott Drive is being targeted. They said the victim received a threat through a text from an unknown number on April 6, and then they were called for shootings on April 7, April 9, and April 14.
Officers said they had found at least 23 shell casings at the targeted home.
SAPD has not been able to identify the suspect or suspect vehicle through homeowners’ security cameras.
Residents KSAT spoke with said they’re taking measures to help investigators and better protect themselves.
“We’re all adding cameras and things to our houses, which is an extra expense to us, but if it’s going to help police figure out who did it, I’m willing to do it,” said a neighbor.
SAPD says North East ISD is assisting in this investigation. We asked NEISD why that was the case, and a spokeswoman said she would look into it, but we have yet to hear back.
