Who is Chennedy Carter? Former DFW-area high school star body checks Caitlin Clark mid game

The aggressive collision came late in the third quarter of Saturday’s Indiana-Chicago WNBA matchup.

ARLINGTON, Texas — Former Timberview High School star Chennedy Carter has a social media spotlight on her after initiating a rough collision with the new face of the WNBA: Caitlin Clark.

Carter, who earned all-state selections while at the Arlington-area high school, appeared to throw herself into Clark while she was waiting to inbound the ball late in the third quarter of the Chicago Sky-Indiana Fever game on Saturday.

It’s not entirely clear what provoked the move, but Carter appeared to be saying something to the rookie just before the hit.

Media members, fans and everyone in between are sounding off on social media about what they think of the body check. Some say it was unwarranted, but part of the game. Others think it’s just bad behavior.

Clark’s legend has only grown larger since her debut in the WNBA and while every new setting may come with some growing pains — a lot of people feel as though some of the fouls she’s taking are unnecessary and targeted.

Nevertheless, Clark and the Indiana Fever squeaked out a win against the Chicago Sky 71-70.
