Texas country icon Willie Nelson isn’t planning on slowing down when he reaches 90 years old next month.
This summer, Nelson will embark on the 2023 Outlaw Music Festival Tour, which will play two shows in Texas.
“The 2023 Outlaw tour continues the celebration of Willie’s legendary life and legacy in his milestone 90th birthday year. For the largest-ever Outlaw tour to date, Willie’s bringing his family and friends on the road for a can’t miss lineup of summer shows,” producers Blackbird Presents and Live Nation said on the tour’s website.
The 16-stop tour will kick off in Somerset, Wisconsin, on June 23 with music guests Robert Plant, Alison Krauss and others.
It will visit Dallas’ Dos Equis Pavilion on June 30 and The Woodland’s Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion on July 2.
For both days, Willie Nelson & Family, Whiskey Myers, Brittney Spencer and Particle Kid are slated to play. Flatland Calvary is playing on the Dallas date only.
Additional shows will be announced, according to organizers.
The Citi cardmember presale is happening now through 10 p.m. Thursday. Tickets to the general public go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday.
Nelson will celebrate his milestone birthday on April 29 with an all-star, two-day concert at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles.
It will feature dozens of performers, including Neil Young, Chris Stapleton, Lyle Lovett, Miranda Lambert, Rosanne Cash, Snoop Dogg, The Chicks, Kacey Musgraves, Norah Jones, Ziggy Marley, The Lumineers, and more.
Tickets for the Los Angeles concerts, happening on April 29-30, are on sale now.
Nelson is also playing in New Braunfels’ Whitewater Amphitheater with ZZ Top on April 14-15, but those shows are sold out.
