SAN ANTONIO — A woman has been arrested after allegedly stabbing her husband as he was getting ready for work on San Antonio inner west side.
Linda Lopez, 56, was booked into the Bexar County jail early Thursday morning and faces a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Her bond was set at $50,000, according to online court records.
San Antonio police initially responded around 8:30 a.m. Wednesday to a hospital where the man, an unidentified 65-year-old, had arrived with puncture and laceration-type injuries. According to authorities, he told medical staff he had been stabbed, starting the SAPD investigation.
Police gathered evidence from the scene where the man said he was stabbed and later determined the suspect to be Lopez. According to investigators, the two are in what they described as a common-law marriage; the victim identified Lopez as being his spouse.
Officials said the man’s injuries appeared to be non-life-threatening.
Lopez has a criminal history in Bexar County going back to 1999, including another assault case in which she was convicted and served 80 days in prison.
