Officials say river access remains closed, crews are staged and weather conditions are being closely watched.
NEW BRAUNFELS, Texas — New Braunfels officials are urging residents to stay alert as additional rain is expected Tuesday and Wednesday across the area.
A flood advisory remains in effect, and the National Weather Service continues to forecast more rainfall through midweek.
According to the City of New Braunfels, crews are closely monitoring conditions and have already taken several precautions to keep residents and visitors safe.
The Comal River remains temporarily closed for recreation because of high water flow, poor visibility and debris near the riverbanks and Tube Chute dam. City leaders say river conditions will continue to be evaluated before reopening access.
Meanwhile, recreation on the Guadalupe River within city limits has not been impacted by recent rains, though officials are urging anyone heading out on the water to wear life jackets and use caution.
Elsewhere in the city, Landa Park Golf Course is closed for now, with additional delays possible depending on the weather.
City street crews have also staged barricades at low water crossings and areas known for flooding, while police and fire crews have prepared flood response vehicles, including swift-water rescue boats if needed.
At this time, there are no changes to residential trash or recycling service, and no city meetings or events have been canceled.
Officials say they will continue monitoring the forecast and provide updates through the city’s website and social media channels if conditions worsen.
