Cool Crest Miniature Golf celebrates grand reopening this weekend

Celebrate the relaunch of Texas’s historic Cool Crest Miniature Golf on May 16 with live music and classic eats, featuring its vintage courses from 1929 and 1959.

SAN ANTONIO — Celebrate the retro charm and delicious eats of one of the oldest continuously operating miniature golf courses in Texas this weekend.

Saturday, May 16, is the Grand Reopening of Cool Crest Miniature Golf in the Deco District. The course dates back to 1929 and is located along Fredericksburg Road.

The reopening runs from 1 p.m. – 9 p.m. and includes mini golf, live music and food and drinks from Schilo’s Food Truck and Metzger Biergarten.

Cool Crest actually includes two historic golf courses:

1929 Course: Dating back to 1929, this course features elegant Art Deco design with terraced levels, pristine white concrete, tropical landscaping, and original fountains.

1959 Course: In 1959, the Metzgers re-engineered the original 18-hole course that runs alongside Fredericksburg Road. Now using concrete as its structural foundation, the business was also expanded at the same time with the addition of a second 18-hole course.
