During Game 2 of the NBA Finals, the Frost Bank Center introduces new menu items honoring Spurs’ Victor Wembanyama, including the Alien Dog and Area 51 cocktail.
SAN ANTONIO — With Game 2 of the NBA Finals upon us Friday night, the Frost Bank Center and Aramark Sports + Entertainment unveiled some new menu items to honor a Spurs superstar in the making.
The new menu items include an homage to Victor Wembanyama’s nickname, The Alien. The two menu items include the Alien Dog andt the Area 51 cocktail.
The Alien Dog is a half-pound hot dog, with brisket burnt end bourguignon, jalapeno aioli, hot honey, crispy onions served on a hoagie. You can find the new item at the Alamo City Grill inside the arena. The Area 51 cocktail features Luna Blanco tequila, passionfruit, pineapple, lime, blue curacao. The cocktail was served in previous rounds and was very popular, organizers said.
Additional new menu items for the NBA Finals include:
- Double Dribble Burger: two 5-ounce patties, smoked bacon, cheddar, Swiss, pepperjack, chimichurri. Potato bun. Served at Ultra Club.
- Fiesta Pizza Box Nacho: sharable nacho with over fiesta-colored chips, beef or chicken nacho meat, kidney beans, Pico, jalapenos, green onions, white cheddar sauce, chipotle and cilantro crema – Served at Nacho Portable at section 112 and 225.
- Ultimate Grilled Cheese: fontina, gouda, provolone, sharp cheddar, cream cheese jalapeno popper, hot capicola, served with onion rings. Served at the Charter Grill Stands.
The San Antonio Spurs take on the New York Knicks at 7:30 p.m. Friday night at the Frost Bank Center. The Spurs trail the Knicks 1-0 for the Finals series after a heartbreaking loss in Game 1 on Wednesday.
