Flash Flood Warning in effect; Heavy rain, localized flooding continues to impact Fiesta plans

SAN ANTONIO — You might still need a poncho if you plan to celebrate San Antonio’s “party with a purpose” this week.

A Flash Flood Warning including has been issued by the National Weather Service for Bexar County, Comal County and Guadalupe Counties. Also for New Braunfels, Schertz and  Universal City until 5:00 PM CDT.

Heavy rain over the weekend did dampen some Fiesta favorite events like Oyster Bake, Taste of New Orleans and El Rey Fido , but Fiesta-goers did still manage to have some fun.

The rain is expected to continue this week and it is already affecting some Fiesta events. Air Force and Space Force Day at the Alamo was canceled. The Texas Cavaliers River Parade is still scheduled to go on, but organizers say the only reason it may be canceled is due to lightning.

A cold front came in Saturday, ushering in cooler temperatures than we expect for this time of year.

Monday will be even cooler, with afternoon highs in the mid-60s before they start to rise once again.

Here’s where rain chances stand for the next several days in San Antonio:

  • Monday, April 20: 50%
  • Tuesday, April 21: 30%
  • Wednesday, April 22: 20%
  • Friday, April 24: 30%
  • Saturday, April 25: 30%
  • Sunday, April 26: 30%
  • Monday, April 27: 30%
  • Tuesday, April 28: 20%
  • Wednesday, April 29: 20%

Looking ahead
