SAN ANTONIO — You might still need a poncho if you plan to celebrate San Antonio’s “party with a purpose” this week.
Heavy rain over the weekend did dampen some Fiesta favorite events like Oyster Bake, Taste of New Orleans and El Rey Fido , but Fiesta-goers did still manage to have some fun.
The rain is expected to continue this week and it is already affecting some Fiesta events. Air Force and Space Force Day at the Alamo was canceled. The Texas Caveliers River Parade is still scheduled to go on, but organizers say the only reason it may be canceled is due to lightning.
Chances for weekend rain in the Alamo City start at 50% for Saturday and 20% Sunday. The cold front will also usher in more refreshing temperatures; after an anticipated Friday afternoon high of around 91 degrees, the mercury won’t escape the 70s this weekend.
Monday will be even cooler, with afternoon highs in the mid-60s before they start to rise once again.
Here’s where rain chances stand for the next several days in San Antonio:
- Saturday, April 18: 50%
- Sunday, April 19: 20%
- Monday, April 20: 50%
- Tuesday, April 21: 30%
