A Flash Flood Warning remains in place until at least 11 p.m. in Bexar, Comal and Guadalupe counties.
SAN ANTONIO — The wet weather has continued to start the work week, with Fiesta in full swing in San Antonio.
Heavy rain resulted in flooding for low-lying parts of San Antonio roads Monday afternoon, resulting in water rescues for cars stuck in high water. The National Weather Service says a Flash Flood Warning for parts of Bexar, Comal and Guadalupe counties continues until at least 11 p.m.; the agency said life-threatening flash flooding was possible.
The San Antonio Fire Department said at least one “technical” rescue had taken place that involved a fire truck being used to rescue two individuals in the area of Pinn Road and Highway 151 amid flooding. No one was hurt.
As much as three to five inches of rain could fall in the impacted area, NWS officials said. Organizers of the day’s biggest Fiesta event, the Cavaliers River Parade, were forced to cancel around 5:45 p.m.; Fiesta De Los Reyes and Fiesta Carnival also ended early for the day as another line of heavy rain began to approach.
