Murder suicide leaves 2 dead, 1 critical in northwest side home, child unharmed

Police say a young child inside the home was not injured during the late-night shooting.

SAN ANTONIO — A tragic overnight shooting on San Antonio’s northwest side has left two people dead, one critically injured and a child unharmed.

According to the San Antonio Police Department, officers were called around 11:48 p.m. Tuesday to a home in the 100 block of Croesus Avenue near Vance Jackson Road.

Investigators say a man opened fire inside the home, shooting two adult women and one adult man before turning the gun on himself.

Police say the male victim and one of the women were pronounced dead at the scene. A second woman was taken to University Hospital in critical condition.

The suspected shooter was also pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities say a young child, believed to be between 4 and 5 years old, was inside the home during the shooting but was not hurt.

Homicide detectives are now working to determine what led up to the violence.

San Antonio Fire Department and EMS also responded.
