
Police say the victim was attacked from behind and taken to the hospital in serious condition.
SAN ANTONIO — A woman is recovering after a violent early morning attack on San Antonio’s west side.
According to the San Antonio Police Department, officers were called around 1:44 a.m. Tuesday to the 1300 block of North Elmendorf Street.
Investigators say an adult woman was walking along the sidewalk when a man approached her and stabbed her in the back.
The suspect fled the scene on foot before officers arrived.
The victim was taken to University Hospital in serious condition.
Authorities have not released a description of the suspect.
Police say the investigation is ongoing.
San Antonio Fire Department and EMS also responded to the scene.
